Requires the State Health Officer of the Mississippi State Department of Health to conduct a study on insulin affordability and its effects on diabetes patients

Study must examine how insulin costs impact prescription adherence, rates of diabetic ketoacidosis, dialysis treatment, end-stage renal disease, and state health program spending on preventable acute episodes

Research must cover all diabetes types including Type 1, Type 2, gestational diabetes, and other insulin-dependent conditions

Study must identify how many individuals unable to afford insulin are uninsured, privately insured, or covered by public health insurance programs

Report must be submitted to the chairmen of the House and Senate Drug Policy Committees by December 31, 2022, with the act taking effect July 1, 2022
