Prohibits hospitals from implementing or maintaining policies that limit visitation by designated family members or friends for hospitalizations exceeding 24 hours, effective July 1, 2022, as a condition for license issuance or renewal.

Prohibits institutions for the aged or infirm from implementing or maintaining policies that restrict visitation by designated family members or friends, effective July 1, 2022, as a condition for license issuance or renewal.

Allows hospitals and institutions to impose reasonable safety requirements for visitations, provided at least two designated family members or friends are authorized to visit for a minimum of two hours per day.

Grants immunity to hospitals and institutions for the aged or infirm from liability claims arising from compliance with this act.

Requires the State Department of Health to adopt rules, regulations, and standards for enforcement of the act.
