Registered foresters must provide scale tickets to landowners and/or timber owners within seven business days for each load of timber, including measured volume or weight, standard of measurement used, and basis and amount of any deductions

Foresters who fail to provide required scale tickets become liable for the cost of the timber if a logger fails to remit payment to the forester

Foresters must immediately notify landowners and/or timber owners if a logger fails to remit payment for timber

Timber purchases must use weight (tonnage/pounds with one ton equaling 2,000 pounds) or measured volume using specified standards (cubic feet, Doyle Log Rule, International ¼ Inch Rule, or Scribner Decimal C Rule)

Violations of timber weight and measure requirements can result in fines up to $200 for first offense, $500 for second offense within six months, and $2,000 for third and subsequent offenses within six months
