Mourns the passing of Mr. John Girard Guthrie of Wiggins, Mississippi, who died on February 4, 2022, at age 96

Honors his military service as a fighter pilot in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and his education at Purdue University where he earned a forestry degree in 1948

Recognizes his pioneering contributions to Mississippi forestry, including holding Registered Forester License No. 1 in the state, serving as first chairman of the Mississippi Board of Registration for Foresters, and earning the nickname "Johnny Pinetree" for helping develop the Illinois Central Tree Planter

Commemorates his 67 years of perfect Sunday School attendance at First United Methodist Church of Wiggins, 72 years as a Mason, and extensive service to Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts

Expresses deepest sympathy to his surviving family, including four children, 10 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren
