Recognizes McComb's founding by Colonel Henry Simpson McComb as a railroad town for the New Orleans, Jackson and Greater Northern Railroad, later operated by Illinois Central Railroad

Acknowledges the city's historical challenges including federal troop occupations, the 1878 Yellow Fever epidemic, major fires in 1904 and 1942, and its role in the Civil Rights Movement

Notes McComb's growth from a two-square-mile railroad community to 11.6 square miles with a population of 12,413 residents according to the 2020 Census

Directs copies of the resolution be furnished to the Mayor and Selectmen of McComb and the Capitol Press Corps
