Commends and congratulates the Mu Xi Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. on the 45th anniversary of receiving its charter on November 6, 1976

Recognizes Alpha Phi Alpha as the first intercollegiate fraternity established by African-American men, founded December 4, 1906, at Cornell University, with over 175,000 members initiated since its founding

Acknowledges the 16 charter members known as "The Untouchable 16" who were undergraduate students at the University of Southern Mississippi and surrounding colleges

Notes that over 325 men have been initiated into the Mu Xi Chapter since 1976, pursuing careers as PhDs, NFL players, judges, mayors, Fortune 500 executives, teachers, and other professions

Directs copies of the resolution be furnished to the Mu Xi Chapter and the Capitol Press Corps
