Commends and congratulates Nakobe Dean, an outside linebacker from Horn Lake High School who played for the National Champion University of Georgia Bulldogs football team.

Dean won the 2021 Butkus Award (nation's best linebacker), earned First-Team All-SEC Honors in 2021, recorded 168 total tackles and 7.5 sacks in his junior year, and declared for the 2022 NFL Draft.

Georgia defeated Alabama 33-18 in the College Football National Championship Game, marking Georgia's first national title since 1980 and first win over Alabama since 2007.

Dean maintains a 3.53 GPA in Mechanical Engineering and has demonstrated community service including donating $10,000 to Hope Community Center, raising $200,000 for local youth programs, and collecting 27,000 pounds of food for food banks.

At Horn Lake High School, Dean won the MHSAA Class 6A Football State Championship, received the Dick Butkus Award as the nation's top high school linebacker in 2018, and was named Mississippi Mr. 6A Football.
