Honors the life and legacy of Mrs. Carmelita Joyce Hanshaw Scott, who passed away on February 17, 2022, and expresses deepest sympathy to her family and friends.

Recognizes Mrs. Scott's educational achievements, including a bachelor's degree in mass communication from Dillard University (2004) and a master's degree in public relations from the University of Southern Mississippi (2009).

Acknowledges her extensive community service including roles with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce, Excel by 5 Advisory Board, and the FDIC Alliance for Economic Inclusion Board.

Notes her professional accomplishments as a business owner of CJ Shaw the Brand since 2006, program coordinator for the East Biloxi Community Collaborative, and community development relationship manager at Woodforest Bank.

Directs that copies of this resolution be furnished to Mrs. Scott's family and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
