Mourns the loss of Fredrick (Fred) George Burns of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, who passed away on September 15, 2021, and commemorates his life and legacy.

Recognizes Burns' contributions to his community including service on the Hattiesburg City Council, publication of The Truth newspaper, and voter registration efforts with the Forrest County NAACP chapter.

Acknowledges his military service in the United States Army medical corps in Germany, his business degree from the University of Southern Mississippi (1979), and his membership in Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.

Notes his survivors including three sons, two daughters, one brother, five grandchildren, and extended family and friends.

Directs that copies of the resolution be furnished to Burns' family and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
