Honors Sam Cooke, a Clarksdale native and blues legend, upon his induction into the 2022 Class of the Mississippi Arts + Entertainment Experience Hall of Fame on December 15, 2022

Recognizes Cooke's iconic contributions to soul and pop music, including famous hits such as "You Send Me," "Wonderful World," "Chain Gang," and the Civil Rights anthem "A Change is Gonna Come"

Acknowledges Cooke as the "Inventor of Soul Music" who was a pioneering African-American businessman, founding his own record label and publishing company

Notes Cooke was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986 and died on December 11, 1964

Directs copies of the resolution to be furnished to The MAX and to members of the Capitol Press Corps
