Increases maximum annual compensation for district attorney criminal investigators from $59,500 to $69,500, effective July 1, 2022.

Adds Sixth, Eighteenth, Twenty-first, Twenty-second, and Twenty-third Circuit Court Districts to those allowed two (2) total criminal investigators.

Authorizes Seventh Circuit Court District to appoint four (4) total criminal investigators, up from previous allocation.

Allows district attorneys to supplement salaries for criminal investigators with law degrees using other available funds, capped at the maximum salary for legal assistants.

Effective date is July 1, 2022, with additional changes to district allocations taking effect January 1, 2023.
