Increases per diem compensation for school board members from $67.00 to $112.00 per meeting for up to 36 meetings annually.

Allows school board members to choose an annual salary instead of per diem, with amounts varying by school district enrollment: $4,000 for districts with fewer than 5,000 students; $4,000-$5,000 for districts with 5,000-10,000 students; $4,000-$6,000 for districts with more than 10,000 students.

Members who miss 20% or more of school board meetings in a calendar year must reimburse the district a proportionate amount of their annual salary, except for absences due to military duty.

School board presidents must report to the State Board of Education by February 1 each year the names of members who missed 20% or more of meetings.

Effective July 1, 2022.
