Teachers who possess a valid teaching license from another country or political subdivision thereof shall be granted a standard five-year license by the Mississippi Department of Education within 21 days of a completed application

The bill amends Section 37-3-2 of the Mississippi Code of 1972 to extend existing reciprocity provisions for out-of-state licensed teachers to include internationally licensed teachers

Current law already provides reciprocity for teachers with valid licenses from other U.S. states; this amendment adds international licenses to the same streamlined approval process

The act takes effect July 1, 2022
