Amends Section 41-29-142 to reduce the distance restriction for drug sales near schools from 1,500 feet to 500 feet of school buildings.

Removes the distance restriction for churches, parks, ballparks, gymnasiums, youth centers, and movie theaters from the enhanced penalty provision.

Adds requirement that persons under 18 years of age must be "reasonably expected to be present" for enhanced penalties to apply near schools.

Repeals Section 41-29-147, which previously provided enhanced penalties for second and subsequent drug offenses.

Adds exemption so enhanced penalties do not apply to offenses committed inside private residences when no persons under 18 years of age were present.

Effective date: July 1, 2022.
