Increases the number of authorized full-time legal assistants across all 22 Mississippi circuit court districts, with increases ranging from 1 to 4 additional positions per district (e.g., Seventh Circuit increases from 11 to 15, Sixth Circuit from 2 to 4)

Adds provisions for the Twenty-third Circuit Court District (effective January 1, 2023), authorizing 4 full-time legal assistants plus 2 additional conditional assistants

Maintains authorization for 2 additional legal assistants per district contingent on either legislative appropriation or county board of supervisors resolution to fund salaries, expenses, and fringe benefits

Allows district attorneys to hire additional legal assistants or criminal investigators beyond statutory limits if funded through office-generated funds, county/municipal contributions, federal funds, or private grants

Takes effect July 1, 2022
