• Allows municipal executive committees to place a single unopposed candidate's name on the primary election ballot if only one person qualifies for an office by the deadline.

• Permits municipal executive committees to dispense with primary elections entirely and declare all candidates as party nominees if no more than one candidate qualifies for each office on the ballot, provided candidates meet all qualifications.

• Requires municipal executive committees to declare unopposed candidates as party nominees after the primary election.

• Applies the same unopposed candidate procedures to general municipal elections, allowing election commissions to declare candidates elected without opposition if they meet qualifications and file required campaign finance reports.

• Takes effect July 1, 2022.
