Replaces the position of "correctional auditor" with a "correctional analyst" under the Joint Legislative Committee on Performance Evaluation and Expenditure Review (PEER)

Removes requirement that the position be held by a certified public accountant or experienced accountant

Expands analyst duties to include monitoring MDOC's financial condition, evaluating program efficiency and effectiveness, reviewing procurement processes for state law compliance, and analyzing department data-management systems

Changes reporting frequency from monthly to quarterly reports to the Legislative Budget Office and Corrections Committee chairpersons in both chambers

Removes requirement for the analyst to attend all board meetings and eliminates provisions for dedicated secretary and personnel
