Requires elected officials who qualify as candidates for another public office to automatically resign from their current position if the new office's term would begin before their current term ends

Creates an automatic vacancy in the official's current office upon qualifying for the new position

Any vacancy created under this provision must be filled according to existing laws governing that specific office
