Senate Bill 2889 Summary

• Amends Section 41-7-191 of the Mississippi Code to direct the State Department of Health to issue multispecialty certificates of need to reopen an existing Ambulatory Surgery Center located at 1883 Highway 43 in Canton, Mississippi.

• Authorizes the issuance of two (2) operating room (OR) multispecialty rooms for the Canton facility through the certificate of need process.

• Specifies that the multispecialty certificates of need issued under this provision cannot be moved or relocated from the Canton facility location.

• Takes effect July 1, 2022.
