Jackson State University may enter into ground leases, sales, management, or maintenance agreements with private entities for land development, with Board of Trustees approval

Agreements can cover student, faculty, staff, and visitor housing facilities as well as commercial development on properties both within and outside the current campus in Jackson, Hinds County

Ground lease and management agreements are limited to a maximum term of 40 years

Approximately 25 parcels currently owned by Jackson State University Development Foundation and Jackson State University Development Holdings LLC are eligible for these agreements

All property and improvements must transfer to Jackson State University at no cost upon conclusion of any agreement, and the State of Mississippi retains all mineral rights
