Increases state general obligation bonds authorized for the Tougaloo College Research Development Foundation from $1,000,000 to $3,000,000 for restoration, repair, renovation and upgrades to the historic Tougaloo College site where Freedom Riders took refuge.

Funds are to be disbursed from the 2018 Transportation and Infrastructure Improvements Fund, which supports various transportation, infrastructure, and development projects across Mississippi counties and municipalities.

The 2018 fund distributes approximately $75 million total across dozens of specific projects including highway improvements, bridge repairs, road resurfacing, water system upgrades, and facility construction in communities throughout the state.

This increase represents a $2,000,000 additional authorization specifically for the Tougaloo College historic site project while maintaining all other fund allocations and project specifications.
