Pays tribute to Dr. Alton Cobb, who passed away on October 14, 2021, for his 35-year career in public health and service to Mississippi.

Recognizes Dr. Cobb's accomplishments as State Health Officer (1973-1992), including implementing the Mississippi WIC Program, reducing infant mortality and tuberculosis rates, establishing compulsory school vaccinations, and creating a statewide emergency medical services system.

Acknowledges Dr. Cobb's role as first Executive Director of the Mississippi Medicaid Commission and his advocacy for affordable, accessible healthcare for all Mississippi citizens.

Documents his numerous honors including the Woodrow Wilson Award for Public Service from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Public Administrator of the Year (1981), and the Humanitarian Award from the Mississippi Academy of Family Physicians.

Directs the resolution be presented to Dr. Cobb's surviving family, the Governor, State Board of Health, Division of Medicaid, Mississippi Medical Association, and Capitol Press Corps.
