Commends Mississippi State Parole Board Chairman Steven Pickett upon his retirement effective December 31, 2021, after 30 years of public service

Recognizes Pickett as the longest-serving chairman of the five-member Parole Board, having been appointed in November 2012 and named chairman one year later

Notes Pickett handled more than 60,000 parole and revocation decisions during his tenure, with the prison population dropping to its lowest level in 22 years at under 17,000

Acknowledges his prior career as Hinds County deputy sheriff, Youth Court Resource Officer, Deputy Chancery Clerk, and Justice Court Judge

Directs the resolution be presented to Pickett and his family, and forwarded to the State Parole Board and Commissioner of Corrections
