Celebrates the life and career of legendary basketball coach Lafayette "Strib" Stribling, who passed away on October 30, 2021, at age 87.

Recognizes Stribling's 25-year coaching tenure at South Leake High School where his boys' basketball team won one state title and girls' team won two state titles, followed by 22 years at Mississippi Valley State University with a record of 315-307 wins.

Honors Stribling's notable March 14, 1986 NCAA Tournament upset attempt when his Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils team, a 64-seed, nearly defeated top-seeded Duke University, losing 85-78 after leading at halftime.

Acknowledges his seven-year coaching career at Tougaloo College where he won four Gulf Coast Athletic Conference regular-season titles and led the team to the Sweet Sixteen in the 2010-2011 National Tournament.

Expresses the Mississippi Legislature's sympathy to Stribling's surviving family, which includes four children, six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
