Recognizes Olin Pickens of Nesbit, Mississippi, a World War II hero and prisoner of war, on his 100th birthday on December 31st.

Honors Pickens' service with the 805th Tank Destroyer Battalion, including his 28 months as a POW after being captured on January 26, 1943, in North Africa.

Acknowledges Pickens' survival of a suicide mission that resulted in 75 casualties, his escape attempt to Czechoslovakia, and his liberation by Russian forces on April 27, 1945.

Extends the Mississippi Legislature's best wishes and gratitude for Pickens' selfless military service and sacrifice in defense of America.

Directs the resolution be presented to Pickens and his family, forwarded to Mississippi's Congressional delegation, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
