Defines self-care as daily healthy habits including hygiene, diet, exercise, and appropriate use of over-the-counter medications, dietary supplements, and medical devices for prevention and treatment of minor conditions.

Cites studies showing every dollar spent on over-the-counter medicines saves more than $7.00 for the healthcare system, generating over $146 billion in annual savings.

Directs the State Board of Health to disseminate information about self-care benefits to healthcare practitioners and consumers throughout Mississippi.
