Recognizes the 30th anniversary of Parents for Public Schools (PPS) and commends the organization's mission and accomplishments on the occasion of their virtual gala celebration on March 5, 2022.

Acknowledges PPS's founding 30 years ago in Mississippi as a grassroots effort to strengthen public schools and recruit middle-class families to public education following desegregation.

Highlights PPS's core work including establishing local parent chapters, sponsoring school board candidate forums, conducting school tours, and providing training to parents and community partners on educational advocacy.

Notes PPS's role in organizing parent and community coalitions to mobilize voices on public education policy at state and local levels and conducting action research in urban, suburban, and rural communities.

Directs that this resolution be presented to Joann Mickens, Executive Director of PPS, forwarded to the State Board of Education, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
