Meridian High School "Lady Wildcats" Girls Basketball Team won the Class 6A State Championship on March 5, 2022, defeating Harrison Central 49-43 at the Mississippi Coliseum.

Debreasha Powe led the Wildcats (27-3 record) with 22 points and 10 rebounds in the championship game, while Senior Charity Hinton added 13 points and two rebounds.

Head Coach Deneshia Faulkner led the team to their first state championship in program history after reaching three consecutive State Semifinal Games.

Resolution commends and congratulates the team, coaches, parents, and sponsors, and directs that the resolution be presented to Coach Faulkner and Meridian Principal Dr. Angela McQuarley.
