Notes that approximately 1 in 54 children have been identified with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) according to the CDC

Recognizes that ASD is a lifelong developmental disability affecting brain function, characterized by impairments in social interaction, communication problems, and restricted/repetitive behaviors

Acknowledges the 15th anniversary of the United Nations General Assembly Resolution 62/139, which established April 2 as the annual World Autism Awareness Day in 2007

Directs transmission of the resolution to the State Board of Education, State Board of Health, and State Board of Mental Health for distribution
