Recognizes Coach L.D. Ready, Sr. for his 35-year coaching career at Richton High School from 1955 to 1990, during which his varsity basketball teams had winning records for 32 of 35 seasons.

Honors his accomplishments as head basketball coach for boys' and girls' teams, assistant football coach, track coach, principal (1980-1982), and athletic director, plus his community work as little league baseball coach.

Notes his educational achievements including a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from Delta State University (1955) and a Master's Degree in Physical Education and Administration from William Carey College (1978).

Acknowledges his military service with the Mississippi National Guard (1955-1991, over 27 years), civic service as three-term Board of Aldermen member, and long-standing involvement with Richton United Methodist Church since 1956.

Recognizes that the Richton Separate School District gymnasium was named "The L.D. Ready Gymnasium" in his honor upon retirement, and that former players established "The L.D. Ready Scholarship" for graduating seniors.
