Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) was founded in 1922 to coordinate interscholastic activities and enhance educational experiences for secondary students.

MHSAA promotes participation, sportsmanship, and citizenship development through interscholastic activities that provide equitable opportunities and positive recognition to students.

MHSAA is a member of the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS), which coordinates high school athletic and activities programs across all 50 states.

MHSAA works with school leaders to administer education-based high school athletics and activities through writing playing rules that emphasize health, safety, and educational advancement.
