Honors Honorable Norman L. Gillespie of Oxford, Mississippi, who passed away on August 29, 2021, at age 87

Recognizes his military service in the U.S. Army Military Intelligence Corps from 1956-1958, serving in Europe and discharged as First Lieutenant

Commemorates his extensive legal career including County Prosecuting Attorney of Union County (1964-1968), Assistant U.S. Attorney in Oxford (1968-1974), U.S. District Court Clerk for the Northern District of Mississippi (1974-1998), and part-time U.S. Magistrate Judge (1980-1996)

Acknowledges his service as Chancellor for the 18th Judicial District from 1999-2003 and subsequent service as Special Chancellor appointed by the Mississippi Supreme Court Chief Justice

Extends sympathy of the Mississippi Senate to his surviving family, including wife Johnnie Vance Gillespie, two sons, and five grandchildren
