Commends the Pearl High School "Pirates" Boys Track Team and Coach Chris Barnett for winning the MHSAA State 6A Championship on May 7, 2021, marking their third consecutive year and 17th overall state title

Team overcame the injury of top runner Corvin Johnson, who had the best Class 6A times in four events but was injured after winning the 110-meter hurdles at the State Meet

Individual state meet winners included Corvin Johnson (110-meter hurdles), Jerry Johnson (long jump, 23'4.5"), Leo McIntyre (shot put, 55'), and Niquez Wade (discus, 161'7")

Team also won the Division 6-6A Championship on April 10, 2021, with multiple first-place finishes across various events

Resolution to be presented to Coach Chris Barnett and Principal Chris Chism, forwarded to the Pearl School Board, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps
