MS HB1105

Authorizes employees of the Secretary of State who are authorized by the Secretary of State to perform investigative or regulatory enforcement functions to carry firearms while engaged in their duties.

Requires such Secretary of State employees to complete a weapons training course approved by the Board of Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Training before being authorized to carry a weapon.

Brings forward Section 45-9-101, Mississippi Code of 1972, which establishes the licensing requirements and procedures for concealed pistol and stun gun permits issued by the Department of Public Safety.

Effective date is July 1, 2023.
