Department of Mental Health shall establish a grant program for regional commissions, counties, and municipalities to assist with costs of crisis stabilization unit services, operations, and facility improvements.

Maximum grant amount per single project during a fiscal year is $500,000.

Applicants must submit applications to the Department of Mental Health including project description, costs, requested grant amount, other available funding sources, and other required information.

Creates a special "Crisis Stabilization Unit Facilities Fund" in the State Treasury that receives legislative appropriations and other designated funds, with unexpended amounts rolling over annually and investment earnings deposited to the fund.

Department of Mental Health has authority to implement and administer the program and shall promulgate necessary rules and regulations; effective July 1, 2023.
