Requires grades 9-12 students to receive twenty (20) hours per school year of healthy living instruction in addition to existing physical education requirements.

Mandates that health education curriculum promote making healthy choices in nutrition, exercise, and behavior, and be age and grade appropriate.

Maintains existing requirements for kindergarten through grade 8 students of 150 minutes weekly of physical activity-based instruction and 45 minutes weekly of health education.

Requires State Department of Education to establish procedures for monitoring school district adherence to physical education, health education, and physical activity requirements.

Effective date: July 1, 2023.
