Creates the Mississippi Teachers' Salaries Task Force to study and recommend funding mechanisms for increasing teacher salaries to match the Southeastern average as determined by the Southern Regional Education Board.

Task force shall analyze salary data and state revenue sources to determine: initial funding needed to reach Southeastern average, projected maintenance costs, and new or existing revenue streams to sustain equal average teacher salaries.

Composition includes five members: State Economist, State Board of Education Chair, Mississippi Economic Council President, a Department of Revenue representative, and an NAACP Mississippi State Conference representative.

Task force must convene within 30 days, select leadership, hold publicly accessible meetings with 15-day notice requirements, and operate under the Office of the State Economist.

Task force shall submit findings and recommendations to the Legislature by December 1, 2023, at which point it will be dissolved.
