Creates Mississippi Code Section 73-11-75 requiring funeral establishments receiving transferred bodies to pay for services already performed by the original funeral home before the transfer can occur.

Applies when a funeral establishment has picked up a body and performed embalming or other preparation services for burial or cremation.

Covers situations where next of kin, an authorized agent, or a representative of the deceased requests transfer of the body to a different funeral establishment.

The receiving funeral establishment must pay the original funeral home's full service costs as a condition of receiving the body.

Effective July 1, 2023.
