MS HB1493

Removes psychiatric hospitals, chemical dependency hospitals, intermediate care facilities, intermediate care facilities for the mentally retarded, and psychiatric residential treatment facilities from Mississippi's Certificate of Need (CON) law requirements.

Eliminates the requirement for CON approval when offering licensed psychiatric services and licensed chemical dependency services as newly proposed health services.

Deletes all subsections of Section 41-7-191 that previously authorized specific certificates of need for psychiatric residential treatment facilities and child/adolescent psychiatric or chemical dependency beds (subsections 3, 4, 5, and 8).

Effective July 1, 2023.
