Amends Section 11-1-1 of the Mississippi Code to expand the list of officials authorized to administer oaths and certify affidavits

Adds chiefs of police and sheriffs to the existing list of oath administrators, which includes judges, court clerks, notaries public, mayors, and other designated officials

Authorized oaths may be administered for court proceedings, depositions, perpetuation of testimony, or any matter required under state law

Effective date: July 1, 2023
