Creates a Law Enforcement Supplemental Pay Program administered by the Mississippi Department of Public Safety to provide supplemental pay to local law enforcement officers

Provides $500 per year in state-funded extra compensation to full-time sworn, certified municipal or county law enforcement officers who have completed at least 5 years of service

The 5-year service requirement includes any service as a sworn, certified law enforcement officer anywhere in Mississippi

State supplemental pay cannot be used by municipalities or counties to reduce or diminish officer pay from other funding sources

Effective date of July 1, 2023
