Exempts booking information from public disclosure under the Mississippi Public Records Act when a person is held in custody solely due to questions about their mental health status and is not under arrest for a criminal act.

Defines "booking information" to include jail dockets, photographs or "mug shots" taken during custody, and any other records generated when a person is taken into custody or held under arrest by law enforcement.

Amends Section 25-61-12 to add the mental health exemption as subsection (5) while maintaining existing exemptions for law enforcement officer personal information and investigative reports.

Takes effect July 1, 2023.
