Sworn and certified law enforcement officers employed full-time by accredited state, municipal, or county law enforcement agencies receive $2,400 annually in supplemental pay upon completing 5 years of service, provided their agency maintains accreditation.

The 5-year service requirement includes any prior service as a sworn law enforcement officer in Mississippi.

Supplemental pay is in addition to all other compensation and cannot be used to reduce or diminish pay from other funding sources.

Creates the "Law Enforcement Officers Accreditation Supplemental Pay Fund" in the State Treasury, funded by legislative appropriations and other authorized monies, with unexpended balances and interest retained in the fund.

Department of Public Safety shall adopt rules and regulations to administer the program in consultation with the Mississippi Association of Chiefs of Police and Mississippi Sheriffs Association; effective July 1, 2023.
