Removes the $500,000 cap on total compensation for individuals found to be wrongfully convicted and incarcerated in Mississippi

Maintains the compensation rate of $50,000 per year of incarceration, but allows unlimited total recovery based on actual years served

Allows annual installment payments of $50,000 "or more" (previously fixed at exactly $50,000) until the full award is paid

Preserves existing requirements that claimants must prove innocence by preponderance of evidence through pardon, reversed conviction, dismissal, or acquittal at retrial

Effective date of July 1, 2023
