Authorizes licensed home inspectors to perform inspection services on new construction for a fee without first obtaining a residential home builders license from the Mississippi Board of Contractors.

Removes the requirement for home inspectors to obtain certification from the Southern Building Code Congress or other national professional code organizations before inspecting new construction.

Maintains existing penalties for unlicensed home inspector activity: up to $1,000 for a first offense and up to $5,000 for subsequent offenses.

Preserves the prohibition on licensed home inspectors performing repairs on residential buildings as part of or resulting from inspections.

Effective date: July 1, 2023.
