Authorizes county sheriffs to apply to circuit court judges for court-ordered wiretaps to intercept wire, oral, and other communications, previously limited to the Bureau of Narcotics.

Adds "sheriff" to the definition section of Mississippi's wiretapping statute and authorizes sheriffs to possess, install, operate, and monitor electronic surveillance devices.

Requires sheriffs to follow the same application procedures and judicial approval requirements as the Bureau of Narcotics, including submission of detailed affidavits and probable cause showings.

Expands sheriffs' authority to obtain court orders for communication records and billing information from carriers during felony investigations.

Requires reporting to the Administrative Office of the United States Courts and the state director to include all intercepts approved for sheriffs; effective July 1, 2023.
