Amends Section 21-21-3 to require municipalities to provide each police officer with at least one less-lethal force option such as a stun gun, baton, or pepper spray that must be available while on duty.

Amends Section 19-25-13 to require sheriff's office budgets to include funding for at least one less-lethal force option per sheriff and deputy sheriff that must be available while on duty.

Less-lethal force options specified include stun guns, batons, or pepper spray.

Effective date: July 1, 2023.
