Removes embezzlement (Sections 97-11-25 and 97-23-19) from the list of felonies ineligible for expungement under Mississippi Code Section 99-19-71.

Allows persons convicted of embezzlement to petition for expungement five years after completing their sentence, if they have paid all criminal fines and court costs.

Maintains existing restrictions on expungement for crimes of violence, first-degree arson, drug trafficking, repeat DUI offenses, felon in possession of firearm, sex offender registration failure, voyeurism, witness intimidation, and abuse of vulnerable persons.

Effective date: July 1, 2023.
