Commends the 2022-2023 Northwest Rankin High School Cougars Boys Basketball Team and Head Coach Joshua Luckett for winning the Mississippi High School Activities Association Class 6A State Basketball Championship, the first in program history.

Team finished the 2022-2023 season with a 26-8 record and defeated Brandon High School 66-52 on March 4, 2023, in the state championship game.

Senior guard Brendan Brown was named game MVP after scoring 20 points, 5 assists, and 2 steals, and had scored 29 points in the semifinals.

Recognizes the efforts of Head Coach Joshua Luckett and Assistant Coach Rogerick Magee in developing the players' skills and knowledge of the game.

Directs copies of the resolution be furnished to Head Coach Joshua Luckett and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
