Credits Dr. Benton with implementing major education initiatives including the Early Childhood Collaborative Act, Mississippi College and Career Readiness Standards, and the Literacy Based Promotion Act.

Notes Dr. Benton's numerous professional recognitions including the Mississippi Association of School Administrators Golden Lamp Award (2018) and Meridian Community College Alumnus of the Year (2014).
